Sixties@60ORANGE CIVIC CENTER AND THE LEGACY OF WELTON BECKET

Completed in 1963 in an overtly progressive style, the Orange Civic Center is emblematic of the pivotal era the city underwent during that period. It stands today as a symbol of the future aspirations of a city transitioning from its agricultural origins to a forward-looking community full of optimism in the post-war era.

This event will be a collaboration with sponsorship by a number of local individuals and organizations. OLA has been fortunate to secure participation of two nationally recognized historians to headline the event. Their presentations will focus on both the architectural significance of our Civic Center and the broader career of Welton Becket, as well as the importance that landscape design played in his projects.
